UA at a Glance

Tree-lined streets, excellent schools, well-maintained homes, and superior city parks and services make this community in northwest Franklin County a truly livable City.

WATCH THIS VIDEO about our city to learn why we are so proud of Upper Arlington. >>

Upper Arlington was founded in 1918 and experienced its most significant growth between the 1950s and the 1970s. Today, we enjoy a stable population base of nearly 34,000 residents. The City is primarily a bedroom community, with less than 5% of our 9.67 square miles dedicated to commercial activities. Redeveloping current commercial zones to support additional office use is the primary focus of the UACIC so that we can continue to offer the level of City services our residents have come to appreciate.

As a first-ring suburb of Columbus — Ohio's capital city — we are adjacent to downtown Columbus and all the amenities it offers. Living and working in Upper Arlington means easy access to the area’s major health care centers, The Ohio State University (the largest university in the nation), central Ohio's two major rivers with their parks and bike trails, Port Columbus International Airport, and important highways.
